Kune Kune Pigs
FAQ
How big do they get?
Kune Kune pigs range in size but are a small pig breed. All of our males and females range between 150 and 200 lbs. They are about the size of a rather overweight dog.
What do they eat?
Kune Kune pigs love to eat a variety of things but they are grazers and prefer to have a lot of pasture. They do occasionally root for food but not very deep because of their relatively short snouts. Some of their favorite foods are clover, acorns, pecans, and green grass.
We also feed our adult pigs about 1 cup of swine food each - 2 times per day.
Do they make good pets?
YES! As a breed, the Kune Kune was rescued from a rather small number of "house pigs" in New Zealand. Their friendly demeanor and ease of care made them perfect animals to keep around the house and clean up any food scraps. They can be trained like a dog, including being potty trained, and won't get much bigger than most.
